Last week class started off by Glenn showing us a movie called Razors Edge. After watching this movie, I thought that the movie was about viewpoints in life. This movie started off with a man and woman that were in love, but the man decided that he needed to go on a journey to learn about himself more. Glenn turned off the movie after the scene when the man found out that his ex girlfriend murdered his fiance. The man was able to move on with his life and found a new lover, and obtained a greater view in life, but as for his ex girlfriend she told the man that she still loved him. It really amazed me how different the two were at the end, the lady staying exactly the same as she was during the beginning of the movie, and the man having changed so much after his journey. Their viewpoints were very different from each other's.
After the movie, Glenn started his lecture on performance art. The person we talked about for this type of art was Marina Abramovic. I was really amazed at the work that she has done in her life. She made me really think about how a human being could be so extreme such as her. Being art herself and expressing herself by actions that I hope I never have to do. She really inspires me, not in the way of inpiring me to become a perfomance artist, but living life with much more willingness to try things that I have never experienced.
